We encourage you to get involved. Stop BHOD is a membership organization that relies on the involvement of its members!
There are several ways you can get involved: 1. Sign up: If you haven't already, enter your email to sign up as a Stop BHOD member (it's free!) and get updates on the campaign against the Brooklyn House of Detention 2. Get your friends to sign up: please copy and paste this link (http://www.stopbhod.org) and send to your fiends and neighbors. Ask them to sign up 3. Sign this petition: we have already gotten 2000 people to a sign a petition seeking to stop the reopening and expansion of the jail. Please go to http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/StopBHOD. 4. Make a donation: in the next couple of weeks we build a capability to give online. Stay tuned! Get the neighbors on your block organized and involved by holding a block meeting in your brownstone b. Get the neighbors in your condo or coop building organized by holding a meeting in your building c. Help distribute leaflets, pamphlets, and posters in the neighborhood d. Go door-knocking to get the message out about the jail e. Help raise money f. Offer any other skills you have (e.g., PR, documentary or TV commercial production, design and web experience, etc) |
